Terms & Conditions

Effective 19 September 2026 · Applies to dropcab.app and ride.dropcab.app · Operated by Deinox Ltd., Ghana

The short version: dropCab connects people who are already driving somewhere with people who need to get there too. Drivers must be verified and insured, riders must board with their code and pay the agreed fare, and everyone must treat each other with respect. dropCab is the platform, not the transport provider. Please read the full terms — they are the agreement between you and us.

1. The agreement

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Deinox Ltd. ("Deinox", "dropCab", "we", "us"), a company registered in Ghana with its office at HP 1385, Ho, Ghana. They govern your use of the dropCab website at dropcab.app (the "Site") and the dropCab web app at ride.dropcab.app (the "App"), together the "Service".

By creating an account, publishing a trip, booking a seat or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What dropCab is

dropCab is a technology platform that lets drivers who are already making a journey ("Drivers") offer their spare seats to people travelling the same way ("Riders"), and lets Riders find and book those seats.

  • We are not a transport company. dropCab does not own vehicles, employ Drivers, or provide transport. Every trip is an arrangement between the Driver and the Riders on it. Drivers are independent individuals sharing the cost of a journey they are making anyway.
  • We are not a taxi or commercial hire service. Drivers must not use dropCab to run a for-hire passenger business. Fares are intended to share the running cost of the journey, not to earn a commercial profit.
  • We provide the tools — matching, verification, boarding codes, live tracking, ratings, an emergency SOS and, optionally, in-app payment — to make those arrangements safer and simpler.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract to use the Service.
  • You may hold one account. You must give accurate, current information and keep it updated. Because identity matters for safety, some fields (legal name, ID number, phone number) can be edited once in the App and afterwards only by written request to support with proof of identity.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password and verification codes private, use the security features we offer, and tell us immediately at info@dropcab.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You must not create an account for someone else, impersonate anyone, or let anyone else use your account — including letting another person drive under your Driver profile.

4. Riders

As a Rider you agree to:

  • Book only seats you intend to use, and be at the agreed pickup point on time.
  • Present your boarding code to the Driver when you get in. The scan is how dropCab confirms who actually travelled; a trip without a scan may not be covered by our safety and dispute processes.
  • Pay the Driver the fare shown at booking, in cash at the end of the trip unless you paid in the App.
  • Behave with courtesy and respect: no harassment, discrimination, intoxication, smoking, damage to the vehicle, or anything that endangers the Driver or other Riders.
  • Wear a seat belt and follow reasonable instructions from the Driver about the vehicle.
  • Rate honestly. Reviews must describe your genuine experience.

Riders travel at the Driver's invitation. A Driver may refuse to carry a Rider who is late, intoxicated, abusive, or who does not present a valid boarding code.

5. Drivers

To publish trips you must first be approved. By registering as a Driver you confirm, and must keep true for as long as you drive, that:

  • You hold a valid Ghanaian driving licence for the class of vehicle you drive, and have held a licence for at least one year.
  • The vehicle has a current roadworthy certificate and valid motor insurance that covers carrying passengers. You are responsible for checking with your insurer that cost-sharing passengers are covered.
  • You are the owner of the vehicle or have the owner's permission to use it for shared trips.
  • The documents you upload are genuine and belong to you. We review them before approving you and may ask for updated copies at any time. Uploading false or altered documents ends your access permanently.
  • You will only publish trips you are genuinely making, at the time and along the route you state, and will not change the route or add unlisted stops without the Riders' agreement.
  • You will drive safely and lawfully, keep the vehicle in a safe and clean condition, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • You will not carry more passengers than the vehicle has seat belts for.
  • You will scan each Rider's boarding code and charge only the fare shown in the App — no extra charges, surcharges or "top-ups" on the trip.
  • You will keep live tracking on during active trips so Riders and, if needed, our safety team can see where the vehicle is.
  • You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from money you receive through dropCab.

Drivers are independent; nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership or franchise relationship between you and Deinox.

6. Fares and payments

  • Setting the fare. The Driver sets a fare for the trip within any limits shown in the App. Each Rider's share is calculated in proportion to the distance they travel, so Riders who join part-way pay less. The exact amount is shown before a Rider confirms a booking and does not change afterwards.
  • Cash. During beta the default is that Riders pay the Driver in cash at the end of the trip. dropCab is not a party to that payment and cannot refund it. A Driver who is not paid, or a Rider who is overcharged, should report it in the App so we can act on the account involved.
  • In-app payment. Where offered, you may pay through the App by card or mobile money, or from a dropCab wallet. These payments are processed by Paystack under its own terms. Wallet balances are not bank deposits, earn no interest, and can be withdrawn subject to verification and the limits shown in the App.
  • Commission. During the open beta dropCab charges 0% commission: the full fare goes to the Driver. We may introduce a service fee or commission in the future. We will give at least 30 days' notice in the App before any fee applies to new trips.
  • Vouchers, referrals and rewards have no cash value, may be withdrawn or changed at any time, and may be revoked if obtained through abuse.
  • Receipts issued by the App record what was agreed and, for in-app payments, what was paid. For cash fares the receipt records the agreed amount only.

7. Cancellations and no-shows

  • Riders may cancel a booking in the App. Cancelling close to departure, or repeatedly, may result in a cancellation charge where the App states one, and affects your rating.
  • Drivers may cancel a trip in the App. Cancelling after Riders have booked, especially close to departure or repeatedly, affects your rating and may lead to suspension.
  • A Rider who does not appear at the pickup point within the waiting time shown in the App may be marked as a no-show. A Driver who does not appear may be marked likewise and Riders' bookings are released.
  • We may waive charges where a cancellation was caused by a safety concern, an emergency, or a fault in the Service.

8. Safety and conduct

  • Emergency SOS. The App lets you alert our safety team and your chosen contacts with your live location. It is not a substitute for the emergency services — in a life-threatening situation call the Ghana Police (191 / 18555) or ambulance (193) first. We do our best to respond quickly but cannot guarantee any response time.
  • Ratings and reports. Both sides rate each other after every trip. We review low ratings and reports, and may contact you for your account of events.
  • Prohibited conduct. You must not: harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; carry weapons or illegal goods; use the Service while impaired; record other users without consent; take payment or contact details off-platform to avoid dropCab's safeguards; interfere with the Service or attempt to access data that is not yours; or use dropCab for any unlawful purpose.
  • We may suspend or remove any user, immediately and without notice, where we reasonably believe that is necessary to protect other users, the public or the Service.

9. Beta status and availability

dropCab is in open beta. Features may change, be added or removed, and things will sometimes break. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, and will show a notice in the App when we plan to. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in any particular area; our current focus is the Accra–Adenta and Accra–Kasoa corridors.

10. Your content and our IP

  • You keep ownership of the content you submit — profile photo, reviews, messages, documents. You give Deinox a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service and to show it to other users as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You must have the right to submit anything you upload, and it must not be unlawful, defamatory, or infringe anyone's rights. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
  • The dropCab name, logo, design, software and all other parts of the Service are owned by Deinox or its licensors. You may use them only to access the Service as intended. You must not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from them.

11. Privacy

How we collect and use personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you agree to that processing, including the sharing of your name, photo, rating, vehicle details and live position with the other people on your trip.

12. Disclaimers and liability

  • The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about its accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • We verify Driver documents and identities as described in the App, but we do not supervise trips and cannot guarantee the conduct, driving or vehicle of any user. Trips are undertaken at your own risk. Any claim arising from a trip — including injury, loss or damage — lies against the Driver, Rider or insurer responsible, not against Deinox.
  • To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Deinox is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of income, or loss of data arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of GH₵ 500 or the fees you have paid to Deinox in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You agree to compensate Deinox for any loss, claim or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or any trip you take or provide — except to the extent caused by our own negligence.

14. Suspension and termination

  • You can close your account at any time from the App or by emailing us. Outstanding fares, charges or payouts are settled first.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your documents lapse or cannot be verified, if your account is inactive for more than 24 months, or where required by law. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive (fares owed, content licence, liability, indemnity, governing law) continue after termination.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the App at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If you have a dispute with us, contact us first and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If we cannot, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Ghana, which have exclusive jurisdiction. Disputes between Riders and Drivers are between those parties; we will assist with records where the law allows.
